Amazon.com Product Description
Set sail with confidence and style to points unknown with this classic Omega Seamaster stainless steel men's Swiss quartz movement watch, a highly accurate timepiece that's as comfortable negotiating deals in the boardroom as it is navigating the breaking seas. It's also a great diving watch, with water resistance to 300 meters (1000 feet), screw-down helium release valve at 10 o'clock, and easy-to grasp rotating bezel--even with wet suit gloves. Definitively masculine in design, it features a large, round silver stainless steel watch case that blends brushed and polished surfaces and measures 41mm (1.61 inches) wide and 11.5mm (0.45 inches) deep. This watch includes an aluminum unidirectional rotating bezel black with silver engraved ten-minute marks (in large Arabic numerals).

The black dial background is accented by a Geneva wave pattern and it includes large, luminous Dauphine hands (with seconds hand) and baton dial markers, as well as a window at 3 o'clock for the date display. Other features include a screw-in caseback, screw-locked crown, 44-hour power reserve, and scratch-resistant and glare-proofed domed sapphire crystal. It's completed by a silver stainless steel link bracelet band that offers polished highlights, which is joined by a secure, push-button clasp. This adjustable band measures 7 inches in length.

The Omega Story
The Omega watch story begins in 1848, when founder Louis Brandt began hand assembling key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen in his principality La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the northwest corner of Switzerland. However, the Omega name didn't appear until 1894, after Louis Brandt had passed away and his watchmaking traditions were taken over by his sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar Brandt. Omega watches have long been associated with glamorous screen and sports stars--the Omega Seamaster is famous for being the watch of choice for James Bond--with current ambassadors including Pierce Brosnan, Nicole Kidman, tennis player Anna Kournikova, and swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe.

But Omega is more than just a fashionable watch. In 1965, the Omega Speedmaster chronograph was "flight-qualified by NASA for all manned space missions" as the only wristwatch to have withstood all of the U.S. space agency's severe tests, including passing grades for extreme shocks, vibrations, and temperatures ranging from -18 to +93 degrees Celsius. The greatest moment in the Speedmaster's history was undoubtedly 20 July 1969 at 02:56 GMT, when it recorded man's first steps on the Moon's surface as part of the Apollo 11 mission. Today, Omega is known for its rigorous testing of new movements, cases, and bands. Each new Omega movement is tested on the wrist in existing Omega models, while various laboratory tests are conducted to determine temperature-resistance, shock-resistance and vibration-resistance.

1 out of 5 stars Great... if you leave it in the box... June 12, 2008

A fool for the beauty of it, I purchased this Omega just short of a year ago. Thought I would have it for life. It stopped working last month after a day of simple recreational diving (and no, I did not open the helium-release valve). Today I heard from the Omega-listed customer service center that it would cost more than $1000.00 to repair. A 300 meter dive watch that didn't last 30? Please.... What use is a "warranty", if it will still cost more than half the original price to repair? Is this the level of customer service you would expect at this price? Not for most people, I would expect. This has nothing to do with the good service at Amazon. This has everything to do with Omega not standing behind their product. What a disappointment!

I bought a Omega thinking it high quality. It stopped functioning in less than 9 months.
Because I had not bought it through a "Qualified dealer" they would not repair it. Basically said screw you.
As far a I am concerned I would never purchase anything from Omega.

This is simply the best watch IMO, that being said, not sure how many folks would actually want to go diving and potentially scratch/damage their Omega.

Fit and finish is absolutly perfect, the bold face, wavy background and simple yet stunning lines are only appreciated by true watch lovers. Many folks think $1K+ is too much for any watch, they are simply wrong.

On the flip note, I do have a Seiko dive watch SKX173 (also a fantastic watch)... that I do not mind banging and possibly damaging again, price does matter when it comes to rough sports.

My TAG diver is also very nice but nothing compares to the Omega.

I have to say this watch is gorgeous. When you're wearing it and look down it looks like it's worth at least two times the price. I bought the quartz one because it's not a daily watch for me. I definitely would reccomend this watch before jumping to a rolex because it's quite comparable. The waves on the watch gives it a razor sharp look which is unique to the omega brand.

The 50.3-millimeter case is constructed out of 23-karat-gold-plated stainless steel, with a black stainless steel bezel, and a matching 23-karat-gold-plated stainless steel textured band that includes a fold-over clasp with safety mechanism for a perfectly secure fit. The dial window is made of tough, scratch-resistant sapphire and protects the black dial face, which features gold hour indexes, three eye-catching chronograph sub-dials, which feature month-and-day calendars below 12 o'clock, and a moon-phase calendar above the six o'clock position. In addition, a date calendar subtly circles the dial face, and large white Arabic numerals line the unidirectional bezel at five-minute intervals. 5 out of 5 stars Pure Gold! May 24, 2008

This particular timepiece, with the Valjoux movement, is one that I have been waiting to put in my collection and now I have it. The Valjoux 7751 movement is superb. The gold plating on the bracelet, case, and subdials, is pure and very rich looking. The beautiful charcoal dial provides an excellent contrast to the gold markers, hands, and subdials. In the sun, this watch is blinding! The black bezel and center links compliments the 18kt gold.
If you are going to own this watch, you must like a big watch. With a 50mm x 18mm case and weighing in at approx. 350 grams, this watch is a tank on the wrist. However, once the bracelet is sized, this timepiece is very comfortable to wear. I wear my SAN IIIs all day, without a problem.
This is my second SAN III. These watches are numbered limited editions, so you're going to own a timepiece that only a few people have. Don't hesitate, this is a great time machine!

TAG Heuer Men's Link Calibre S Watch #CJF7110.BA0587

TAG Heuer Men's Link Calibre S Watch #CJF7110.BA0587

Features:
» TAG Heuer Swiss quartz hybrid electro-mechanical movement
» Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides
» Case diameter: 42 mm
» Stainless-steel case; Black dial; Luminous hands and markers; Unidirectional bezel; Date function with perpetual calendar feature; Tachymeter function
» Water-resistant to 200 M (660 feet)

Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description
Featuring an exclusive electro-mechanical movement developed and patented by TAG Heuer, this Link Calibre S men's watch (model CJF7110.BA0587) combines mechanical and quartz timekeeping to offer unrivaled functionality thanks to no fewer than 230 components--including 5 bidirectional motors, ensure very high-precision functions. Its intuitive, easy-to-read chronograph offers 1/100 of a second precisiion and offers measurement of simple time, split time, and two periods of time that follow at very short intervals. When not used as a chronograph, the two half-moon subdials indicate the date (with a perpetual calendar applicable until 2099). It has a blue dial face with shining silver hour markers and luminous hands. It's matched to a stainless steel bracelet band composed of satin-finished S-shaped links, and the watch case is topped by a tachymeter (used for measuring time over distance). Other features include an anti-reflective scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet)--suitable for recreational scuba diving.

How to Use a Tachymeter
A tachymeter is an instrument for measuring speed. It is a chronograph with a graduated dial on which speed can be read off in kilometers per hour based on 1000 meters distance. For example, the chronograph indicates that the distance of one kilometer has been covered in 30 seconds. The corresponding point on the tachymeter scale indicates 120, and thus the speed is 120km per hour.

3 out of 5 stars Great Watch, but there is a subject with the accuracy January 23, 2008
J. Droop
5 out of 6 found this review helpful

This watch is excellent. No doubts about that. I got this watch 2 month ago, but I'm not 100% happy with one subject.
With the saphire anti-glare crystal the watch looks very nice. The operation of chronograph is very easy and the time values (with 1/100 sec. accuracy) also very easy to read. The watch is on the heavy side, but with the smooth bracelet you don't feel it.
My subject is the accuracy. Without using the chronograph, the watch looses 1 sec/week. Thats an acceptable value for such kind of watch. But, if you repeatedly use the chronograph, say some 5 times and play pushing the buttons sometimes, the watch looses 1 second that day. And that's a problem for me.
Because of that I went to an Official TagHeuer dealer and made a battery change for US$ 25.-, but the situation continue being the same.

4 out of 5 stars Great watch, if you have money to burn December 30, 2007

Just got this watch and I have to tell you it is really nice. You can dress it us or dress it down. The Saphire Crystal can only be scratched by a diamond or another saphire. It has anti-glare crystal so it looks like it has no glass compared to a regular watch side by side. When it does reflect light, it makes the black bezel look dark blue or sometimes deep purple.

It tells the date by using the two smaller dials that resemble a tachonmeter. It says it has a perpetual calander, so you don't have to touch it on short months or even leap years... it does it automatically!

I got this for my wedding anaversary... so unless you have just under $3,000 to burn... I would just get someting else..lol.. This is a serious time peice, and looks smart, and tech-wise. This watch suttley states, "it's a nice watch, and if you only knew how much it costs!" lol

Magentaville (brentwood, ca United States)
Good watch. Easy to set and easy to read. Downside: The light isn't bright enough to display the digital part of the watch, but does allow you to see the hands. I wish the band was a little bigger, if I was a little bigger the watch would not fit. My last casio had a watch band that was too big and could not be made smaller. This watch band is too small and can't be made larger.

Has 3 different types of alarm options, very nice.

5 out of 5 stars For the $ a Great Deal! November 3, 2008
S. W. Snow (GPF, MI USA)
I am a collector of high end watches. My watches are shall we say in a different class then this watch. But as I say this I also like to buy watches that I appreciate the way they look. This watch caught my eye as a functional all around watch. It was inexpensive and seems to be a fairly good watch for the money.

I have no regrets buying this one, and if I was asked about an inexpensive good watch, this one would go in my book! If you are looking for a decent looking and a watch that so far, seems to be of quality I would say this is a great deal! The illumination is great too, I didn't know that it had that as a function, and I accidently hit the button and to my surprise it lit up quite a bit. Do yourself a favor and pick up one of these, it is a great deal and looks pretty good too!

4 out of 5 stars elegant and urban divers watch October 28, 2008
S. Singelsma (belgium)
I have selected this divers watch because it has all the features you need for a divers watch, it is indeed used for scuba. A good feature is the illumination which allows you to see better under water.
Next that the case is also elegant and urban, it is ok to weare.
Finally, it is definitely not expensive when bought at the right shop.

4 out of 5 stars Good for the price October 24, 2008
S. Y. Yang (Seoul,Korea)
The product is pretty much what I expected. A bit heavy for Women.
The large panel, a bit stiff strap but good functionality including the moving bezel.

5 out of 5 stars My New Favorite Watch October 8, 2008
JE (Chicago, IL)
I bought this watch in Jun 08 and have worn it every day since. I think it's a great looking watch that goes great with both business casual or everyday casual. My favorite feature is that fantastic LED brightness. I travel quite a bit and use the watch to find my way around in a dark hotel room. It works amazingly well for that. I replaced a Timex with indiglo that was not nearly as bright, and not as good looking or seemingly well made as this watch. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

5 out of 5 stars For any occassion October 6, 2008
Andrew Curtis (Wickes, AR)
A great watch, I feel comfortable wearing it when I work out, or if I am dressed up. Also easy to use.

Scratch-Proof Tungsten Carbide Steel Case & Bracelet, Black Museum Dial, Sapphire Crystal, Precision Swiss Quartz Movement

Amazon.com Product Description
Sleek, modern styling and superior durability combine in this handsome Museum dial watch from Movado's Valor series. It features a black Museum dial with silver tone hands and a single concave dot at the twelve o'clock position. This is the minimalist look made famous for Movado by American designer Nathan George Horwitt in 1947. Horwitt intended his design to be evocative of a sun dial, with the dot representing the sun at high noon. The dial is housed in a case crafted from steely blue tungsten carbide with a virtually scratch-proof mirror finish. This metal rates a 7 of 10 on Movado's scratch-proof scale. For comparison, aluminum rates a 3, gold a 4, steel a 5, and diamond a full 10. This watch presents on a handsome bracelet-style band made up of polished rectangular links and fastens with a hidden push-button deployment clasp. Other notable features include a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and precise Swiss quartz movement. Water-resistant to 30 meters, this watch can withstand splashes and brief immersion in water; however, it is not sufficiently resistant for swimming.

Movado, one of the most celebrated watch brands in the world, traces its origins to the small village of La Chaux-de-faunds, Switzerland where, in 1881, a young watchmaker named Achille Ditesheim hired six assistants and opened a small workshop. He called his company Movado, a word which means, roughly, "always in motion." The company grew and prospered, evolving from a small pocketwatch manufacturer into a leading innovator and designer of precision wristwatches. Throughout its history, Movado has maintained its place at the pinnacle of innovation and excellence in design, craftsmanship and technology. Movado watches are crafted by highly-skilled watchmakers to meet the exacting standards of Swiss time technology. They are accurate to within seconds a year. All Movado watches are sealed and protected against water, moisture and dust, and individually tested to meet strict international standards of quality. A long-time dedicated supporter of the arts, Movado has, itself, been the recipient of over 200 international awards. Movado watches can now be found in the permanent collections of over 20 museums worldwide.

4 out of 5 stars Absolutely Beautiful, BUT... January 18, 2008

The Movado Valor, IMO, is the epitome of Movado, simple, elegant, beautiful. The Valor is very thin, as the case is practically the same thickness as the band. Unlike titanium watches (that were the craze a few years back) or stainless steel watches, the Tungsten Carbide and weight of the Valor makes it feel substantial, and balanced. It feels like jewelery, but the design is masculine.

BUT, the problem, Tungsten Carbide is "brittle" compared to other metals. I dropped my watch in the bathroom on ceramic tile, and somehow, a small corner of the case/crown, right next to where the band connects, shattered/chipped off at 45 degree angle from the corner, about 2 millimeters. No one notices unless I point it out, but I still know it, and it is a little sad, but I still wear it most every day. I've had it for over 6 years, and have had to replace the battery only once. It still keeps perfect time and looks new. Unless you have a perpetual calendar or digital watch, the simplicity of having just the time is great because you never have to worry that a short month is going to make your watch a day off.

I've had my watch for over one year now and I still love it! I have always been a Movado fan for years now. This is my second Movado. My first is the regular Mens Classic style but since I've had it for about 10 years, I wanted to upgrade to a nicer one. The Valor is well worth the money I paid for it! I wear my older watch during the weekdays since it's still in great condition and for weekends I wear my Valor - which gives me an additional reason to look forward to weekends. The Valor is mirror shiny and has a very solid feel to it in terms of weight due to the tungsten metal. I like the fact that the watch is scratch resistent although I would never rub it against the curb. I can wear my Valor with any outfit be it business or casual without having to worry if it's appropriate to the occasion. This will probably be the last luxury watch I ever buy since Movado has such high production values. In terms of battery life, during the time that I have owned my old Movado, I have had to replace the battery 2 times so far.

In a word i say this watch is 'awesome". I saw this watch at a movado store for $2299 and got this model number to search online. Luckily amazon itself is selling the watch at half the price with its extended warranty. Its soo beautiful and its worth the price at amazon
